How it works

Step 1 Pick a challenge

A track is a topic. Tracks 3, 5 and 9 have ready-made challenges: a real problem with data ready to use. On the other tracks, you pick the problem and find public data yourself.

You can work on more than one track, but when you submit, pick one main track to be judged on.

Nobody on your team codes? Try the Manvel challenge (Track 3) with Gemini Notebook.

Step 2 Get the data

Every challenge's data, and public data for the open tracks, is on one page. Always say where your data came from.

Step 3 Build with free AI tools

You don't need to code. A no-code tool or a clickable mockup counts. Check what the AI gives you.

Step 4 Submit by 2:00 PM

Put your slides in your team folder and fill in the "Our project" Doc there. Then present for 4 minutes, with 1 minute for questions.

Checkpoints to aim for

  • First hour: a one-line problem, and who it helps. Talk to your mentor before you build anything.
  • Morning: a mockup of every page, with fake buttons.
  • Late morning: a plan for the smallest version that works.
  • Early afternoon: one feature working.
  • 15 minutes before 2:00: your slides in your team folder. Test every link in a private window.
  • At 2:00 PM: done. Stop building and practice your 4 minutes.
